As a result of our constantly changing environment, we are continually being presented with challenges to the way we live and do business. As we see an increase in major climate events, we also find that flooding is happening more regularly and with more intensity.

As these increased threats often appear with little or no warning,  we are focused on how to plan for, and manage these potentially devastating events.  

In 2008 we started Watertight Int. with the sole mission to protect commercial and residential buildings by providing expert consultancy and partnerships. After many years of successful end-to-end projects we found ourselves being approached to partner on large scale schemes and providing expert advisory services on a grander scale.

By fully understanding every flooding challenge that is put in our way and knowing that while there may be similarities in projects, there is definitely no prescribed list or suite of products that apply to all use cases. Whether these differences arise from technical specs, project budgets or insurance requirements, a truly holistic consultancy like our own cannot find ultimate rewards by limiting project scopes to one suite or brand of products.

The Industry

There are numerous potential reasons for requiring a Code of Practice, including, but not limited to standards needed for general planning purposes, operational use, development control, problem investigation and detailed solutions design. In each case there is potential for differing requirements in terms of techniques, standards of data collection, modelling detail and verification, leading to varying levels of model confidence. 

It is therefore necessary to define the information required from the CoP, the points at which this information is required and the confidence required in the Standards. The responsibility for defining this would normally rest with the Commissioning Body as the ultimate user and custodian of the completed model, after taking account of the requirements of key stakeholders. In some instances there may be a need for approval of the scope by others.
